Quantum TV is someone that would call god hand shit because it's graphics and brutally hard instead of the absolute masterpiece we lost to time.
As sb. who got the chance to play elden ring on my friends xbox recently (he was far in the gane btw.) I actually menaged to end the boss who'd been giving him major problems and he never menaged to beat...I menafed to end the boss on 7th try and man...that shit was great af.
@John Diaz True Honestly im a developer and i loved the game so much i decided to make something inspired by it.
You can always tell when they've made something up to be mad about because the devs didn't submit to the whining of communists.
i was inspired by elden ring and loved looking at vids of it so instead of being jealous i just tried to make something inspired
Quantum is exactly the type of person ubisoft makes its games for.
I hope they don't want him
you just burn the whole village XD
never heard such an effective insult
The fact that quantum's entire career got literally destroyed because his take was THAT BAD speaks a volume and a half.
@Youhavetoguessit It was like watching "Man digging his own grave live". I'm still not sure what outcome was supposed to be according to keikaku...
Quantum's content wasn't made for everyone so it shouldn't have been made at all
The "This game is bad because I died a lot" arguement is hilarious.Imagine back in 1997 if everyone just said "Oddworld is awful man, all you do is die."
Oddworld was also a puzzle type of game with a certain rhythm to it. And its definitely a far cry different than any souls game, so I really do not get the point here.
@ZeeHero you ever went back and played smb or smb3? I have with smb3. And thank fuck I grew up with them cuz its controls feel very unintuitive to modern sensibilities, took me a while to dust off the skills. It's still got a wonderful feeling of going on a journey and adventure, mind, but that's besides the point. We're used to platforming where the skill comes from inputting commands quickly and well timed with proper response, thinking of celeste and ori primarily. Back then you had to think out and feel your commands and use finesse rather than raw reflexes. Different skills, comparable difficulty.
i gave the game a few hundred hours... Didnt like it. I wanted to like it but the way the story is told... i couldn't finish it. Fromsoft games are just not for me. the fact that it sold all these millions of copys dont mean a thing to me. Call of duty sells billions of copys and i never liked it.
My ten year old son has recently started playing it after watching me and deciding it's the coolest looking thing he's ever seen. It took him a while to get a grip with the From way, but watching it click for him and see him start to GIT GUD was a super proud parenting moment. The first major wall he hit was (as I'm sure it was for many) against Margit. Did he trash the game? Blame his many, many deaths on the controls or the design philosophy? No. He immediately started watching other videos on how to overcome this monster. He researched, he trained, he died again and again. And then, he did it. He felled him. I was in the kitchen making coffee and I heard the unmistakable sound of triumph. He fucked Margit up and he felt good about it. Now, he's in Haligtree, fast approaching Malenia. This kid is 10 and was able to look past his failures and learn from his mistakes and appreciate the masterpiece that it is. My point is... I'm not even sure. I just wanted to voice my proudness. And possibly implicate that my son is more man than some of these reviewers.
Absolutely hilarious that a ten year old is more mature than an actual grown man lol
Hopefully, Malenia was swift in knowing defeat at the hands of your little warrior.
what a strong young tarnished indeed thou a fitting choice for the next Elden Lord
“There’s no super dramatic cutscenes that dazzle and dazzle and break the mold” so this guy didn’t even get far enough to fight Maliketh 😭
@Kishin Asura You probably could've done it if it was DS2.
@Kishin Asura You could have unequipped.
@Kishin Asura Hoarah Loux moment
@Testeur Natha my man
how anyone could dislike, let alone HATE Elden Ring's art-direction is just astounding. what's more their style? Fortnite?
Please don't tell me you think you're better because you play elden ring and not fortnite or liking fortnite somehow makes you lesser
@SPARTAN Games Chris Benoit, summoner by Pat, shall keep them safe brother. Keep the faith.
@Captain Chainsaw then just enjoy it. People will disagree with you (myself included) but if you enjoy the game then it's a good game for you. Nobody knows which games shake up the industry until a decade after so just play what you like and don't worry about its legacy
Some people are really hung up on resolution. Souls games (other than Sekiro) aren't the pinnacle of hi res textures when zoomed in. I'd argue that that's a very intentional artistic choice like soft focus in photography designed to keep you focused on the relevant details
A day before I knew what Elden Rings was I asked my friend what difficulty he was playing on. He laughed and said “what difficulty?” Now I understand…. And I love it. The feeling of beating a boss after they used you like toilet paper is glorious! Truly Maidenless behavior from some of these reviewers.
@Taihus open world in its purest form
There's so many ways to beat a boss too, freedom to explore and grow in power.
Quantum was too used to playing story mode that he didn't relies that you either come into the game humble or Miyazaki will humble you, for you.
"Why did the guy I stabbed start swinging back" 😆 🤣 love that line
Wow. Quantum's take was the biggest case of sour grapes I've ever seen.First off, his take made my head hurt more and more the longer he talked. The only good thing I can say about it is that, when he got to the 'fair use' part, I laughed at the same moment you did. i haven't had something make me burst out laughing like that in quite a while, so that was the teeny tiny little half a raindrop of gold in this cow-pie of a review.Personally, I'm not into the Souls games. I recognize that they're not my type of game. I'm a casual gamer who mainly focuses on shit like Pokemon or Stardew Valley. The hardest I've ever worked in a video game was fully completing the Spyro Reignited Trilogy (All the achievements, collected every collectable, just... did everything in all three games). I've never been interested in the Souls games because I'm not really into what I call 'meat-grinder games'. I love learning about all of the lore behind them, though, and I know a lot of people who enjoy the games. However, while it may not be my thing, I'm not two years old. I recognize that I don't have the skillset to go very far in this game, and I'm not going to just rag on the people who do have those skills and call them weird... what, vampire mutants, or something? "Oh, the game was made to be hard." YES! That's the point of the franchise! You braindead labradoodle! Not everything has to cater to you, and not everything has to be made with everyone involved! Just admit that you didn't make it past the first random monster you ran into and move on. Stop crying worse than my 1-year-old niece.Actually, him ragging on the game kinda makes me want to go out and buy the game. I don't even care if I ever play it, but I'd be giving the developers more money to make cool stuff like this. Also, one last point: The game looks beautiful. If that's dog shit, someone needs to check his dog, because it's shitting out gold bricks.
@Lycan4 Your start sounds way more productive than mine, I was just trying to kill everything I saw that got aggressive. Didn't go well.
@Ol' Extra Regular Bass Actually haven't played much, but the game so far is gorgeous! Once getting past the tutorial, I actually spent ten minutes just taking in the scenery. This game is total eye-candy!As far as gameplay... I've actually only died so far because I was dumb. lolz. I died three times to the tutorial boss. Once because I forgot to block, the second because I forgot to dodge, and the third time because I forgot I could heal. The fourth time, I didn't even get hit, and beat him. It was actually really fun!I then snuck past the guy on the horse, killed some foot-soldiers for runes, and then went into a dark cave and got ambushed and killed by wolves. lolz. That was my bad, too. Should have had a torch. Haven't gotten mad at any of my deaths yet, because I know that I was being dumb at the time. The game's beautiful, and I'm actually having a lot of fun with it so far! It gives me a thrill when I beat an enemy in this. It feels good.
@Lycan4 How're you doing so far?
More people need to learn from your example bro! I respect the hell out of not liking something but also not being an ass to the people who do like it. You rock dude!
@Lycan4 You should try it! Years ago I bought DS1 on sale without knowing anything about it. Got my ass handed to me in the tutorial. Didn't touch the game for months, kinda building courage to try it again. It's now one of my favorite series.Yeah it's hard but finally being able to overcome the challenge this games present is one of the best and greatest feelings I got from gaming.
Quantum: "This man has no family cause he plays elden ring."Also Quantum: "Lemme harass his mom real quick."
@Jötunn ah I see, thx
@FushiTheImmortal A sycophant is essentially a person who follows someone else without question. Never questioning them and always doing exactly what they say and never hesitating to defend that person
Meanwhile me with friends, loving family who plays elden ring with me and a gf who tried and didnt feel like its her type of game: “guess ill stop existing”
@Nobunaga That's some copium of a comment if I've ever seen any. You have to manually copy right strike videos like that and report them
Quantum has taught me to never give a pathological liar attention
It's funny when the game first came out I got it as a new member of the franchise and I fell in love with it I didn't even think about the difficulty level 😂😅
14:28My gf played like 30-40 hours of Dark Souls 1, found it cool but got stuck at 4 kings and kinda abandonned. When Elden Ring came out, I bought it, and she tried it out. 10 - 20 hours, she beat Godrick on her first try. Right now she's 90 - 95 hours in, still having a blast and absolutely destroying some really hard bosses, while she really wasn't that good at Dark Souls. She got gud at Elden Ring, and that guy should too before telling stupid things.
Tell her to get back to dark souls she is probably better now
How was Margit for her?
Once you master timing for blocks and dodges, the world (in between) is your oyster.
I like how when Act Man laughs hysterically, his dog looks at him like he's a mad man.
That laugh looked fake as hell....like he was trying to artificially amplify a chuckle
Tbh, that is a relatable feeling for many dog owners
“A game that’s not made for everyone isn’t a game that should be made”The paradox of this statement is that if you dumbed down Elden Ring to be for babies, then you’d turn away all the fans that love the challenge, ergo, it’s not for them anymore. There is literally no way to achieve this standard for anything ever, game or otherwise. But Quantum abuses DMCA to silence criticism so fuck whatever he has to say anyway.
@Austin Sultenfuss That doesn't mean the player is definitively going to find good spirit summons like he would "easy mode" in a menu.
For the case of dumbing down elden ring to be made for babies, yes you can achieve this and satisfy everyone, all you have to do is add difficulty options, this goes for a lot of shit this game is absent of just to suit "hardcore players" instead of offering gamer friendly options, like points of interest or even a fucking quest log.
People who think like that are the sheep of humanity. Life is not fair. They have a long road to travel lol.
“Like, homie, you can’t just ignore literally everything the game is trying to tell you, and then blame the game.”*GameGrumps sweating profusely*
Lmao arins playthrough of DS3 was so painful to watch. Still love the guys but geez.
@TDE 44 Oh sure, and he knows that. That’s him for you. You know that Sequelitis video (I think) where he applauded Mega Man X for teaching players through gameplay instead of text instruction? That’s his personality type. Don’t say, game, just naturally guide. And I get that.Hence why he liked Elden Ring. ER (problematic initials, those) is super not-hand-hold-y, for a modern game. And unlike the old days of gaming, there’s no instruction manual.Me, on the other hand, I always actually read (past tense) game manuals when those were still things.
@Aurelius Red Oh, I don’t mean Elden Ring, that’s probably the first game that actively punished him for doing that (of the content I’ve seen). But like 99% of the other games he’s played, yeah, he digs his own grave a LOT. Look at TTYD and the whole Shine Sprite thing~ XD
Arin actually did fairly well, I thought.
There is an easy mode, level up your vigor, upgrade your weapons, explore old areas or new areas and come back later. The game is as easy as you want it to be
The easy mode is playing the game better
Use summons and kamehameha and its a childs play
Or just be a cowardly mage xD
Out of all the KRcliprs who are here for clout can we just take a second to thank the act man for being an funny charismatic loving his fan base and just doing research and being honest and not telling everyone because I feel this way you guys should thank you act man for being an amazing KRclipr
I just started this game a couple weeks ago and completed most of the first area and the peninsula underneath. I barely beat the dragon in lakes of lumiria. I was taking shelter behind a rock while it was breathing fire at me and when it finished I jumped over the rock and swung the sword in mid air at it’s head. This game is great.
That first guy didn’t attack Varre on “accident” he called him maidenless and was hurt by the truth bomb Varre dropped on him
I leveled up and went back and killed Varre for that reason.
Fr tho that guy was trolling really hard
@trïstan didnt kill him 1st run because i though he would have either more tips if i get stuck or would have an interesting questline.
@the4GIVEN 2nd run? Am I one of the only ppl that killed him 1st run being entirely new the guy is just bad
When i heard varrè calling me maidenless i was like "Never have i been so offended by something i 100% agree with."
I love how people think adding an easy mode to games takes 5 minutes when in reality adding new difficulties can be a nightmare since every Enemy and boss needs their stats and animations edited or you need to redesign every levelAnd the same people that demand these options always complain “The game makes me feel bad cause I have to play easy mode”
As a former coder, they would need to include a factor to nerf or buff every stat for every enemy depending on the difficulty level chosen. This is not including AI changes, which are probably considerably more work and probably cause all levels of disagreement when they decide which tweaks are for "easy" vs "hard"
I have gotten nothing but help and support from players in this game
I struggled with Elden Ring for maybe the first few days. But I was trying to learn the controls and interface. I did alot of research. I actually played every starter class because the tutorial area was kinda fun. It really helped me get skilled at the movement and combat. I rarely die. Because I don't attempt stupid stuff. This game is amazing in that it really follows the Art of War. Win first then go to battle.
Watching this after all the controversy and playing Elden ring for the first time is surreal.Shoutouts to fromsoft for making a game so good it caused an integer overflow and broke people's brains.
"Why are you attacking me? This is a fighting game!" I died laughing.
Best actman yell ever....
As someone who hasn't played a lot of 3rd person games, and no FromSoft game, Elden Ring is incredible and provides so many options to tackle a problem that really the only excuses to for not getting gud are "Can't physically play the game" or "Not bothered to"
Never played any soul games. Elden Ring was my first and went through the game to its very end. Loved every bit of it. Had some difficulty but never thought it was overbearing.
This was my first from software game, and the first game I’ve played on a controller. I had so much fun, learning how to play while exploring the phenomenal world they’ve created, and got better and better. When I first got in I was getting wiped by one single soldier near stormgate. On my second play-through I was downing bosses on my first or second try and I’m still having fun trying different builds and strategies… These people are stubborn and delusional.
Here's my hot take.Elden Ring is the BEST Action RPG to be made in the last decade or more. No RPG since Skyrim has instilled me with such a feeling of wonder and amazement as Elden Ring did. The open world is beautifully detailed and full of content and places to explore. And Elden Ring is absolutely GORGEOUS, the single most visually beautiful game I have ever played. If Elden Ring was half as good as it is, it would STILLA be an EASY 9 out of 10.These garbage takes all obviously come from people who think Ubisoft games are the most unique open world experiences in gaming.
As a friendless orphan, I'm so happy the evil Japanese made this torture device for me to spend 10000 hours on. Luckily, I have that time because of the lack of distraction by anyone
I need to stop commenting before watching videos 🤣🤣
Are you ok buddy?
Get a load of this maidenless
Lack of an easy mode actually makes me feel better when I win, because I know everyone is is going up against the same thing. Also I suck at the game, but I've only played for a few days just grinding.
Little did Act Man know that this seemingly harmless video would spiral into one of the most infamous cases of copyright abuse in KRclip History.
Quantum Tv: “The Elden ring fandom is being childish its just my opinion”Also Quantum Tv: “If you play Elden ring you have no family, no friends, you’re a loser”
The community in a *space marine voice* : we will like to know your multiplayer password please. Quantum: why so you can abuse me?The Community: yes........
What kind of gets me is the hostility. Like there's lots of negative to say about Elden Ring, but the overly negative reviews tend to just be incredibly hostile toward the game, devs, and players.
My cynicism just sees desperate reviewers trying to gain clicks through outrage. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes not. There's a reason he kept making videos on the game. It got clicks.
@Urukosh ! you still living in 2019 bro.
That's true but how he's doing it is gonna ruin him later
@Chris what the hell are you even talking about 😆
@WhirlwindT QuantumTV is the name of the channel
Elden Ring was actually my first Souls game. 80+ hours later in NG+ with two characters, and I'm still enjoying it.
Elden Ring is the first souls-type game I’ve ever played. At first I was expecting to get wrecked and assumed I’d probably give up after realising I wouldn’t be good enough but that really wasn’t the case. This game is accessible to ALL players. You just have to learn how the game works. Practice. Get good. And finally, reap the rewards of your efforts. I’ve now finished Ranni’s questline and am excited to continue onwards. Probably my favourite game I’ve played in a long-ass time. Amazing game. The feeling you get after beating a boss who has defeated you numerous times is so satisfying
Favorite line was “You don’t insult people to make friends, you insult them after you become friends” TheActMan laying out those facts.
I've literally never touched any other souls game, and I absolutely love Elden Ring. Did I have trouble to learn the controls and mechanics of the game? Absolutely. That being said, the absolutely massive open world gives any player plenty of room to learn everything about the game
“If a game isnt made for everyone, it shouldnt be made at all” there goes literally every game on the planet
A game that would catter to everyone would take atleast 25 years to make. A game which had every genre in it. Cutting edge graphics. Perfect 9000 fps. But it would be atleast 1TB and people would still complain because that's too much. And i bet ppl who think like quantum would say "why make a game so big, there wasn't a need to make it so big" so at the end of the day. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE A VIDEO GAME OR PRODUCT THAT APPEALS TO EVERYONE, that's not how things work.
@Kiernan Leary The big chungus meme has been around for longer than 2 years.
Minecraft: huh I’m still here
@Tux Northpoler wrong, wow doesn't try to be for everyone. Maybe it tries to be for every mmo fan but more people don't play mmos than those who do play mmosA lot of people like mmos but the number of people who like mmo is still smaller than the majority who don't like mmos.
Every painting ever drawn should just be a black dot in the center of the canvas. That way everyone can appreciate it.
This game is my first souls game, never hated it and I knew that these type of games were hard so I knew it was gonna be a challenge and I beat the game with about 50 hours of gameplay. That quantam tv guy just plays straight forward games.
I, also, immediately thought about how tampons aren’t made for me after quantum said “a game that’s not made for everyone, shouldn’t be made…”Great minds think alike, Act Man.
Who would’ve thought this video would lead to easily one of the most intense and heated KRclip feuds in recent memory? Also congrats on getting your monetization back!
"you lose everything you collected... everything!" well, kinda... if *all* you collected were runes... but you can get those back, unless you die again... which is part of the experience with a From Software game.
I feel sorry for the people in quantum’s life. Imagine dealing with him daily
It has to be a curse.
“Quantum stop shitting on elden ring. Please”But it’s trash you should return it“No fuck off”
@540マンモス That's who I thought he was for a bit 💀
Can we start calling him VeganGames
@Brellik I'm sorry.....what? Deadpool costume?!
Learning the controls is fun for me. I usually ignore the turorial if I can, and just learn on the fly... mostly a bad idea, but always fun.
“Comparison is the thief of joy” - Teddy Roosevelt. My favorite quote. Good stuff, Mr. Acting Man.
Elden ring was my first real dive into a “souls” game, and it wasn’t even that difficult for a newcomer to experience. I loved the game, and beat it twice.
20:50 I gotta comment on this. As a long time souls vet over 70% of my time spent playing is as a phantom, all I do is help bro. I've showed at least 5 people this week the tree spirit fight in Stormveil. People get so excited finding a secret/optional paths. I've learnt the route so well I stop beside the items now so they don't miss them. Now I don't get crap for killing the mini-boss, like 4000 runes? Less then helping someone kill Godrick, but it's a extra heal for a noob, so it's worth.
I laughed out loud when I found out the developer ragging on Elden Ring for having bad UX was a UX designer for Battlefield 2042. My dude, you are in no position to tell anyone a damn thing about UX.
@Caleb OKAY it’s more like xenophobia. Lots of Japanese companies hate foreign companies.
@Dislike button feel bad for you guys out there. There will be a time but I'm sure as hell it will be long
He's that jelous now, imagine if Elden ring released with a scoreboard.
@Dislike button Its disgusting really...
Especially when there's LESS THAN 1000 people playing 2042 right now. 😂🤣
Kinda relate to the "after work" argument cuz when I started working full time I realized quick asf tht spending a couple hrs on a boss was rly sum I couldn't afford to do anymore sucked man
As someone who played Elden ring as their first souls like game ( I played all of them afterwards) this game was amazing and trying a boss many times makes the feeling of winning incredible. Plus just all the options of how to play is something else
Elden Ring is my first FromSoftware game. I had no first person experience with this game but I’ve seen enough videos of their previous games to understand what I was getting into. There were only 4-5 enemies that I thought were complete garbage to fight, and half of them have become manageable at this point. This 150 hour game in a genre(?) that I have no experience with became deeply investing in my first 4 hours and I’ve had a blast since.
I died lots of times in DS2 to that guy with the big blue sword because I wanted his sword more than I wanted him to continue living. But it was on me for aggroing a nonhostile NPC with a giant fuck-off sword. Eventually I decided to level up a bit more before trying to claim his sword. I've noticed a lot of non hostile NPCs that don't sell you stuff are actually pretty strong in these games. That's a lesson I learned
“A game that’s not made for everyone isn’t a game that should be made.”If you try to appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one.
@MR II That's exactly my point. Gmod is the "game for everyone" but it's not that in the rite of its developer or core mechanics. My point is you shouldn't set out with the goal to please everyone, because you can't force that. It can happen, but it has to happen organically.EDIT: basically, I'm saying unless you strike the jackpot with community engagement, you're not going to make a "game for everyone". You should make what you want, and if you do that well enough, well "if you build it, they will come" - Having the upfront goal of your game being "for everyone" is going to fail.
@Triangle Moebius dude, gmod is literally a mod for the half life engine. it was made to cater to a specific niche of players, i.e. people who like to f*ck around. it's a playground for people who want to get creative it's not exactly made to cater for everyone. you can say the same for Roblox, but again, any game that has a platform for creativity isn't catering to everyone. people make mods or games for specific genres but none of them appeal to everyone by themselves.
Ironically, "appealing to no one" can be done well. I like to think Gmod has no appeal to anyone really on its own merit (remember: vanilla gmod is three open maps, a handful of NPC's, HL2 guns and two tools) but people MADE it appeal to them, both through gmod being totally moldable, use of source engine games, and a close relationship between Gary and the community. The issue is that's not something you can inorganically create. Gmod started as a "fuck around" project by Gary, and then people came naturally. It's not something you can DEMAND, but something that must HAPPEN.
When I see someone reacting with incoherent frustration to a game that is just too hard for them I can sympathize. I did the exact same thing when I first played Elden Ring. No game has made me angrier. I stuck with it and got good... ok not good but good enough that I can't remember what was so hard about it or what my problem was. It was worth it. Get good. Just stop complaining and get good. How do you get good? Just keep playing and it happens. You don't need guides or dedicated practice. It just happens on its own from playing more.
I would love an easy mode for Elden ring… But instead of making it easier it makes it 10x harder
It’s my first souls game and “the graphics are” just makes no sense when I walked out of the tutorial it felt good and yea I had a hard time but even if your new you’ll get the hang of it I just beat Astel today after dying 50 times and it felt amazing but anyways these critics make no sense
Elden ring did have some performance problems on pc on launch but those are long since patched. Though I do think the souls community can be kind of toxic and elitist sometimes (not overall nor a majority, I generally love our community), especially towards newcomers. Getting over the challenge and earning a place in the community is part of the experience. Some just don't
The art coming out of the community is so good man. So much talented people out there
Ok Elden Ring simp.
Especially the uh…….the ummm……you know
Oh yeah, all the ranni “art” is reaaaal good 😩
@TheMellonMan how Can I search for that Background?
I had never played a Soulsborne game before Elden Ring. Of course whenI first started it I was terrible and died a lot. I've now beaten the game about 6 different times and tried a bunch of different playstyles. Hating on a game because you're bad at it is so dumb, because there is a very simple solution to that problem. Get better.
@Zu Nil I don’t think so. I’m done with Godrick. Killed him first try for my current knight character. Now I’m over at Castle Morne and probably finish the rest of the underground lake after.
Some would say..... "Git Gut"
@Leon yep now I know, but after 40 hours the game becomes extremely boring and repetitive and you quit :P would not recommend buy if ur a real gamer
@Zu Nil 10 hours until I fully understood the mechanics.
@Zu Nil 20 hrs I'd say.
Quantum the type of guy at a restaurant to yell at the waiter/waitress when his food wasn't cooked right
He definitely is the type to rob someone’s house then when they get shot they go”hey stop being toxic!”
Elden Ring is such a landmark game. I hope everyone in the gaming industry talking the open world genre is taking notes because their games WILL be compared to and held up next to Elden Ring
"insulting people doesn't make friends, you insult them after you've become friends"Act Man with the best kind of life lessons huh
If I don’t make fun of you, you aren’t really my friend
Anyone know his yt channel?
Tis a true fact
I mean he's not wrong that is exactly how it goes
One of my greivances with the game was the weapon clipping through walls and floors. That shit messed me up so many times. Especially if you encountered that trap chest transporting you to the crystal mines. Holy wakazolé I died a lot in there :-D couldn't help but try clearing it out anyway =P had no graphical issues or lagging though... not at all but I played it on PC.
i love that most complaints about the game can legitimately be answered with "get good" and its about as valid as their points. Because a lot of their issues seem to just stem from being bad at the game.
Speaking from personal experience Act Man, Elden Ring is in fact the easiest of the Souls mainly because when you die (quite often than not) you only temporarily lose all your runes but unlike demon and dark souls your health bar isn’t halved and no way to return it to full strength. All you have to do is make it back to where you died without dying a second time and you can reclaim your hard earned currency. That’s why it’s now on my top ten RPGs ever. Tough as nails but far more forgiving. Easy mode would be a bad idea because it would gimp the already masterpiece game.
Actually his point of “fromsoft needs learn to welcome players” is exactly what has transpired since dark souls 3. OG DS, DS 1 & 2 were absolutely dogshit to me (mostly the controls), but dark souls 3 immediately clicked with me and I’ve been a fan of the franchise since. Elden Ring made it more so since it was such an accessible installment to the genre.
"A game that is not for everyone is a game that should not be made."There it is. That's the worst take. You could have ended the video there. That's the only thing this video needed.
@Anti - Ethnic Cleansing you what, now?
Basically saying all forms of entertainment-not just videogames, even something as simple as enjoying nature- should be outlawed and banned.
@Christopher Regan What game would even fall under those specifications? Every game I can think of has a sense of purpose, direction, and identity.
It should actually be: "A game that has no sense of purpose, direction, and identity is a game that should not be made."
@M o u n t a i n D e w look though the community post he said four days ago he’s still going to make video
Honestly I love how it doesn’t have any easy modes but when I am fighting bosses and constantly die I wish it had an easy mode
Rewatching the video and hearing the graphics point after playing the game, I played on PS4 and it was still beautiful (though it wasnt consistent fps but that never bothered me)
Watched this about 6 times since release and every time he empties his shelf of games I die 🤣
As someone that has never played a dark souls game , elden ring is one of the best games I have ever played
Never played a souls game and was intimidated by the “difficulty”. 130 hrs later and it’s one of my favorites of all time, right up there with RDR2, Skyrim and New Vegas.
@Earthrealm Skyrim’s combat is worse and it’s graphics are also worse.
My experience and sentiments exactly
As my first Souls game, I'm really enjoying this. I think that the game drops off right towards the end (around the introduction of Mountaintops of the Giants/Consecrated Snowfields) but other than that it slaps crazy hard.
Welcome to the FromSoft cult. >:)
I was going to make an argument with you, but you mentioned NEW VEGAS. So I've unfortunately fallen in love with you.
I don't understand the graphics argument. Many have criticized them but personally I found myself looking at areas in the game or bosses in awe because it looked so good.
Fr the game is literally beautiful
I ignored the entire tutorial and then just learned the controls over time through a combination of trial and error and a few memories of Demon's Souls
I have never played a dark Souls game and my friend said elden ring would slap me in the face for breathing too hard so I tried it got frustrated a ton but I kept coming back because I love the challenge
No other game makes me angry and then extremely excited like elden ring does and that's why I love it!! The setting, combat and enemy design are only scratching the surface to how amazing this game is.A serious goty contender in my opinion!
Quantum TV: "I die after two hits in Elden Ring, it sucks."Actman: "Level Vigor."A child vs. a rational adult.
the problem is that you still die in 2 hits after maxing vigor LMAO
Vigor whats that i just dump all my points in arc
Basically a 7 year old complaining to an 11 year old.
Meanwhile I do the opposite and level DEX to do more damage XD
To be fair it doesn't matter how much vigor you have in late game you'll be 2 hit anyway. but fortunately, we have something called dodge roll, and backstep dodge, and jump.
"level up vigor" killed me at 17.17 I can't stop laughing because that sums it all up. People try and play with a giant weapon and no vigor or strength and think the game sucks because my giant bonking stick isn't bonking, or my magic stick isn't amazing because of my unintelligent smooth brain.
It’s not very often I’ll be playing a game and consciously notice the environment around me but elden ring definitely has made me notice it multiple times
I haven't played any of the souls games, Elden Ring was my first and I absolutely adore it. I'll definitely play the other ones if I ever get tired of this one. It just screams quality everywhere, definitely GOTY material.
I played Dark Souls III Remastered for like 2 weeks before playing elden ring to get a feel for the dark souls industry or whatever and I didn’t get past the 1st area. But when Quantum said “You can’t play the game without a million times first”… I am sitting now with over 250 hrs into elden ring and it was very hard but it was so enjoyable when you beat a difficult boss. And then he also “The controls are shitty.” I skipped the cave of knowledge bc my game glitched and it didn’t show me the usual “The cave knowledge lies below” and I learned the controls within maybe 10-20 mins…
"A game that is not for everyone is a game that should not be made" is in one sentence everything that is wrong with the modern gaming industry.
@gmu_alum08 might as well play cookie clicker
Not for the gaming industry, it's for all western society
@IFD2 mate I work 50ish hours as a welder... GIT GUD
Shaves headDons track suitONE OF US
Watching this in retrospect with quantum calling people childish when he CALLED A MAN'S MOM over internet beef is so fucking crazy
This is the first I’ve heard of this drama but if he really called someone’s mom I’m going to lose my shit. Researching this embarrassment now.
I am absolutely in love with this game…so much so I play it alone in the dark😳
Here’s my review of this game: When I first heard of it I thought it was a Lord of the Rings Game. (I was in the middle of reading Return of the King when this game released) and after 2 minutes of research I was disappointed. I bought the game a few mother after release when I got a PS5. This was the first Dark souls game I played, and it is also my favorite game of all time.
Thats nice but where’s the review
Now Im craving my Blood in a Cup! Im not the biggest fan of soul’s games. I had an incredibly hard time with Dark Souls 2, but by gods the look of Elden Ring is amazing, that alone is giving me an urge to at least try the game. People like Quantum seem to fundamentally misunderstand games and my brain hurt listening :( but loved your video Act Man.
“A game that’s not for everyone, is a game that shouldn’t be made” 😂😂😂😂 That actually blew my mind
This is the first opinion I’ve heard that is just objectively wrong
@red rover117 Infinite warfare campaign was actually incredible though, guarantee if it wasn't a cod game and just a space fps more people would praise it. Which is pretty sad cause it honestly deserves a sequel.
Imagine thinkin that music artist gonna ask his FANS and people around the world what MUSIC should he do for them so they will LIKE ITgod damn this world completely lost touch with brain :D
Elden Ring is my first souls type game and i understand everything without outside help
14:50 elden ring is my first soulsborne game that i played and after maybe 5 - 10 hours i already understood the combat system very well
If there is one thing I love most out of The Act Man's videos are his edits of references and music choices. Perfection. Every time.
I attacked the first npc too 😂 but I got away first try and came back at lvl 50 and killed him 😎
Jesus these reviews are great... For you to turn into content lol
This dude is hilarious. Type of guy to pick up a basketball for the first time ever, not balling like a pro and then be like man Basketball sucks nobody should ever play that stupid game. I shared Elden Ring with a really good friend of mine and the very moment he came out of that tourorial area he was like damn this game looks so beautiful. He never played a From Software game before, now He doesn't want to play anything else and in the beginning he didn't want to play it at all because of the difficulty but i told him don't worry i got your back we're going to get you gud. Basically the same way i got introduced to Dark Souls 1 back then.
My first souls game is elden ring and I'm having a pretty good time with it. I firstly got killed by the Tree sentinel a few time and so I stepped back a little... Because I'm into exploring more and level up as fast as I can I defeated Margit, godrick and rennala in 25 hours with just a few tries. Well just shows what dedication and actually pratice can bring instead of complaining about things that aren't really problems.
As someone who takes pride in organization, my heart was in physical pain watching you toss your collection around.
